Our resident social media expert, Chloe, manages our social marketing – you’ve probably seen her colourful posts and read her hints and tips online. How to master your social media posts

Whether you’re part of a business, or building a personal platform, online presence is essential. Success on social media doesn’t come from posting randomly, It’s about being intentional with your content, staying on brand, reaching your target audience, and posting consistently.

Here’s how you can take control of your social media presence with smart scheduling, strong branding, and consistent content.

Plan & schedule ahead:

Creating a content calendar – whether it’s weekly or monthly – can make a huge difference. It allows you to plan ahead, stay on top of trends, and align your posts with upcoming events.

We use software called Buffer to schedule our posts in advance, which allows us to add tags, links and visibly see what content we are putting out over the next few weeks. You can also add multiple channels on Buffer, enabling you to post on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram – wherever your audience is too!

Choose a schedule that works for you, whether it’s posting 5 times a week or twice a day, and here’s the important part – stick to it.

Build a brand that’s recognisable:

Your social media should reflect your brand’s personality and values. Visually, this means using consistent colours, fonts, and image styles. Tools like Canva make it easy to create templates that match your brand’s vibe.

Tone of voice is also important, whatever you choose must be consistent across captions and comments. And don’t forget hashtags! They are a good way to drive traffic to your page.

Be consistent:

Consistency is one of the most important parts of growing on social media—and also one of the hardest. Start with a schedule that feels doable and build from there.

If you’re worried about running out of content, remember that not every post needs to be brand new. Repurposing content is OK! For example, a blog post can become a series of Instagram carousels, a TikTok video, or LinkedIn post. Take your existing content and find new ways to share it.

Chloe’s top tip:

With a solid schedule, a recognisable brand identity, and a commitment to showing up, you can create content that not only looks good but builds connections with your audience.
