This is our second blog in a series that showcases the wonderful people who are part of Hour Hands.

All things crafty

#craftydoesit is me when I’m not in the office. Ever since I can remember, I have been a lover of craft of all kinds. I love an uninterrupted peruse around a stationery shop. I could literally spend hours looking at all the different pens, paints, and craft kits – trying to work out what my next project will be.

I actually worked in a well known craft shop for a short time and it’s safe to say that I definitely spent more money buying new pens and items for my newest hobby than I was actually earning. Even with the staff discount!

Crafting for me can be anything from picking up a colouring book for 10 minutes, making a Christmas wreath for 10 hours, or learning a new skill like Modern Calligraphy for 10 weeks. It’s my own form of mindfulness and in a world where you can overthink every decision and have a to-do list as long as your arm, it’s the one thing that truly switches my brain off to focus on the task in front of me.

So, if I had any advice for you it would be to find your thing – whatever that may be. Find the thing that will make you take time out just for you. It really does help.
