Meet Jane – helping you reclaim your time and rediscover your focus
We’re so pleased to welcome Jane to the Hour Hands team. Jane heads up our wonderful PA team and has the wonderful title of Creative Executive Team Lead. She’s been with us since June this year. We’re going to leave it to the eloquent Jane to tell you more about her role and her experience. Over to you, Jane.
We’re all about helping people find time for what truly matters and that’s exactly what I love most about my role. We help clients work smarter, simplify the complex, and create systems that bring calm, clarity, and confidence back into their day. Whether it’s streamlining processes or introducing clever automation, there’s something deeply satisfying about helping people reclaim their time and rediscover their focus.
From hotels and weddings, to IT and banking – a portfolio of experience
My career has been a rich and varied journey, and I like to think of it as my portfolio of experience. I originally trained in hotel management before moving into roles such as conference and banqueting manager and wedding coordinator. Those early days taught me the importance of precision, planning, and a calm head when life gets busy. All these skills have proved invaluable when managing fast-paced client projects. My time in banking and IT consultancy added a layer of structure and technical understanding, while running my own childcare business and later working in education, taught me patience, empathy, and the value of clear communication, and the love of glitter!
Creativity always wins through
A few years later, I retrained in social media management and charity communications. It was an exciting shift that allowed me to bring together strategy, storytelling, creativity and helped me learn how to connect with audiences and craft messages that really resonate.I then found myself drawn deeper into creative work through photography and design. Those passions taught me how to combine technology with imagination, and they influence everything I do today.
My role at Hour Hands is to help businesses run smoothly
Right now, I’m focused on helping clients implement automation that saves time and makes their business flow more smoothly. It’s always rewarding to see someone’s face light up when they realise they’ve gained back hours in their week and that their systems are finally working for them, not against them.
Looking back, my career might appear wonderfully varied, but every step has built the skills I now use to support Hour Hands clients. From hospitality to tech, childcare to communications, each experience has added another tool to my toolkit. A true example of transferable skills at work.
The personal side of Jane
Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to two grown-up sons and dog mum to Wilson, my golden retriever; a fabulous PAT Dog (Pets as Therapy). He brings smiles and calm wherever he goes and also leaves behind a trail of golden sprinkles as a reminder of his visits. I also love photography, walking in nature, and anything creative.
Something you might not know about me is I’m not an adrenaline junky, but I have completed a bungee jump and mostly recently, a skydive for charity.
I try to do all of this with a smile on my face!
