We just love introducing you to our wonderful Hour Hands team members. Today, it’s the turn of Wendy, our fantastic bookkeeper. But put aside your preconceptions of what a bookkeeper does because Wendy takes the art to a whole new level!

Meet Wendy – our bookkeeper extraordinaire!
Wendy is a bookkeeper, a detective and problem solver, a salesperson and because of all this, a very useful person to have as part of your team! As a part qualified ACCA accountant with a CIPD (HR) qualification, she is a true people person and as well as a whizz with numbers!
Wendy works as a bookkeeper for a number of our clients including an IT Solutions company. For each client she performs myriad tasks that range from compiling management accounts, cashflow, forecasting, VAT returns and payroll. Working on various systems, including Xero, Quickbooks, SAGE, and Line 50, Wendy manages everything from purchase orders to data input, with a bit of reconciliation thrown in too! She relishes tackling those tricky finance issues too.
I am super organised and I love finding solutions for problems – the more challenging the better! I also love talking to people, so I will happily pick up the telephone to discuss processes and gather the information needed to analyse the root cause of a problem. I really enjoy being part of the team as I never know what challenges I will be facing next! My role is varied and I love working within different sectors, which have their own set of unique circumstances.
I am very proud that one of my ancestors is the Peter Pan author JM Barrie – it’s why my parents named me Wendy! I enjoy running and am slowly getting back to exercise after a nasty injury. I’m also rather partial to a bit of retail therapy and foreign subtitled films too.
